Thanks for the update. I am sick to my stomach and can't even imagine how you feel. But I'm optimistic that something can be done for her and you've made it happen to give her this chance. You can't do more than what you've done, except pray, and we are all with you praying for her too. |
I pray you try to get some rest. I would be beside myself, too. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. But I just know Zhoie is going to be alright! You are such a good Mommy to her, and she is sooo lucky to have you. I'll be thinking of Zhoie. |
Tena you are amazing! As soon as you knew Zhoie needed treatment you sought it out for her asap and drove her where they could best help her. Zhoie is a very fortunate lil girl to have you as her mum. Stay strong & take good care of you, so you can take care of her. Thinking of the both of you. |
Oh Tena I am so very sorry you are going through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and beautiful Zhoie. We all are rooting for you angel girl. |
I read Cathy's update this morning and just checked back now. Zhoe is in good hands and they will take excellent care of her. We will all be rooting for your little girl. Try to rest now. |
Oh Tena, I just saw this thread. I am so sorry for all of you with this most stressful event. You are a terrific mom and I know you are doing all the right things for your baby. God's mercy for you all. Prayerfully, Marcy |
Tena you and little Zhoie are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry you are having to go through this and pray Zhoie will stay strong. |
Keeping little Zhoie in my thoughts and prayers...((hugs)) |
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you Tena and your sweet baby girl Zhoie. |
I just want to say that this thread is an example of the goodness of YT! :) |
So glad you took the time to give us an update, Tena. I hope you are able to get some much-needed rest. I can't imagine what you are going through right now. I think I would need a sedative. Miss Zhoie is in great hands. We will keep praying for her, the team treating her, and her mommy. |
My heart and prayers go out to you and Zhoie as you go through this scary time. YT prayers and people are amazing. |
Sending prayers and hugs to you, Zhoie and your family. She is so very lucky to have such a great mom, taking immediate action for the best care possible. Please get some rest and stay strong, Zhoie's pain is being managed for now, and I'm sure she will pull through this with flying colors. God bless. |

Just checking in...... Prayers to Zhoie and you. Stay strong. |
Sorry that Zhoie and you are going through all of this and that it is happening so quickly. I am glad that she is at the hospital and that she will be getting the best care available. Hopefully you will know soon if surgery is possible. Saying prayers for Zhoie and for you for a good outcome and some peace. Hugs to you both. |
I am just now seeing this thread - tears in my eyes for you and Zhoie; I know how much you love her. Prayers going out for a successful surgery. |
Just spoke with Tena. She and her husband visited with Zhoie today. She sounds very relaxed about all of this and confident with the facility. The resident explained everything in detail. OK...here is what I know as it was explained to me. They will be doing a flouroscopy tomorrow to get a better idea about the stability of Zhoie's neck....they will be able to visualize the ligaments there and see if they are intact. The 1st and 2nd vertebra of the neck are stabilized by the dens and ligaments. They are not seeing a dens which would indicate that this is congenital. They want to see whether or not the ligaments are stabilizing those vertebra. They need to know if there is a separation when Zhoie's neck is bent...that will be seen with the flouroscopy. IF there is a separation, then that will tell for sure that AAI is the problem. If there is not a separation, then they will be doing a spinal tap to rule out the possibility of GME or other problem as a cause for the neck pain that Zhoie is having. She also has a malformation of the skull which I am thinking might be chiari....Tena was not sure of the name; but she said they are not concerned about it. She is pretty tired right now...not sure if she will be online but she asked me to update this thread. She sounded positive about all of this and is so thankful for all of the support and prayers by the YT community. |

Thank you Linda. Continued prayers. |
Thank you for the update. More prayers |
Thanks, Linda, for the update. It sounds like Zhoie is in very good hands right now. Bless her heart for having to go through all of this. Tena, I just now read that Zhoie is at the vet school neurology department having tests. Zhoie is always in my prayers. I know that God loves all of his little animals and that he is with Zhoie right now, and is also with the surgeons guiding them in the right direction. Hang in there and try to get some rest. It's been a long week for all of you. |
Thank you so much, LJ, for keeping us updated. I am glad Tena sounds well. I have been concerned for both of them. |
I'm so glad she's getting closer to all the answers and feels confident. Thanks for updating! |
Thanks for the update...continuing to pray. |
