| Maybe a friend or family member could keep him at their house until she is through this heat and able to be spayed. You have to be very careful that he doesn't get to her bc of the size difference. She is too small to breed, and he is waayyyyy too big to breed to her.

| yikes! you wanted to breed a 15lb dog with a 4lb dog? very wise of you to change your mind! if you're keeping them seperate then that's all you can really do for now. glad to hear you're going to spay/neuter after her heat is done. i have always heard it's best to wait until AFTER the heat if they aren't spayed before it. idk it's thats a legit statement or a myth. just head spaying a dog in the middle of her heat can mess her up? anyone feel free to chime in on that lol.

| Have you talked to your vet? Perhaps he could prescribe something to help calm him down for this short period of time. IDK if they do that sort of thing for animals. I work in human med, but it would be worth asking about if you are concerned about how upset he is and you have noone to puppysit for you for a short time until this heat is over.

| Please be very careful while she is in heat. Even the gate is not enough to keep them separated because when there is a will there is a way. You cannot allow them together not for one minute. If the cost of the spay ($350) is too high you might look into low cost spay/neuter clinics in your area. Many times a vet will remove retained puppy teeth free of charge....mine did. What is the cost of CSC services? $75 for spay surgery (females) $55 for neuter surgery (males) $15 for rabies vaccination Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc. | Pet Clinic Programs Massachusetts Animal Coalition:

| He is Wayyyy to big for her i wouldnt even consider it if they were my dogs im mad about an unplanned breeding right now my 9 pound male bred to my 6 pound female a real accident on my part dont get me wrong i had planned to breed her just not with him. This is my 1st experience with this particular females heat cycle and i never saw any blood so i was thinking she wasnt ready and my male hadn't been showing any real interest in her until that day and it happened so fast there was no way i could stop it . Im really hoping she doesnt have any complications im not sure about what size pups my male throws because i have only bred him once with a bigger female and those pups are only about 4 months old. I had planned to breed her with a friends 4 pound male but i guess i will half to wait about a year and a half to breed her again she's only been bred once before i got her i was told she had 6 with no problems and was an excellent mother but she was bred to a smaller male so i really dont know what to expect . I also have her 11 month daughter which is also about 5.5-6 pounds but i wont bred her until she's at least 18 months more than likely 2yrs. |
