| Oral Cleansing Gel by Maxi/Guard This was posted about a few days ago and was curious if anyone had any specific knowledge about the product. It is alcohol-free unlike Petzlife and it says it is taste-free too, which would be great because Jackson HATES the Petzlife stuff being rubbed in his mouth and always shakes his head, he does not like the taste. Found it on Amazon through entirelypets. Amazon.com: Maxi/Guard Oral Gel 4 oz: EntirelyPets http://www.addisonlabs.com/products/...ansing-gel.php Is it supposed to help reduce tarter build-up, or is it mainly just for bad breath, or what? Any opinions? Might give it a try.

| I forget what they claim it does (I think plaque reduction so less tartar forms?). Anyway, my vet doesn't recommend it to clients (because she is too busy recommending brushing), but did tell me it does what the company says it does. She didn't have a problem with me using it. It's what I use if I get a rinse, but didn't use it long enough to decide if it did any good. Only problem is the zinc content. I think that's a concern to some owners. I think a board certified dentist also likes this one. If I remember right, there is a slight scent, so I doubt it's really taste free.

| Cool, thanks. I think I would feel more comfortable using this than Petzlife.

| We have been using this for about a week and Cali does not mind the taste. I keep it in the frig so it will last longer, but rub it on her teeth every evening and she does not seem to mind that it is cold. Still try to brush 3 to 4 times a week. I originally posted that my vet did not like the dental solutions that had alcohol in it and the response I got from Leba III when I asked about the ethyl alcohol was rather defensive and demeaning and did not really address my question about my concerns.

| Sometimes I use doggie toothpaste (because she love it) but sometimes I just use the oral gel with a brush, but the rest of the time I just put the gel in her mouth using my finger. She does not mind the flavor.
