I forget what they claim it does (I think plaque reduction so less tartar forms?). Anyway, my vet doesn't recommend it to clients (because she is too busy recommending brushing), but did tell me it does what the company says it does. She didn't have a problem with me using it. It's what I use if I get a rinse, but didn't use it long enough to decide if it did any good.
Only problem is the zinc content. I think that's a concern to some owners. I think a board certified dentist also likes this one. If I remember right, there is a slight scent, so I doubt it's really taste free.
