| I'm not sure what your reasonings are for the low fat food and it's important to look at ingredients, etc, too.... but here are some options: - Innova and California Natural offer low fat and grain-free (and grain inclusive foods). - Castor & Pollux - Wellness CORE Reduced Fat - Blue Wilderness Weight Mgt. - Royal Canin Gastrointestinal - Natural Balance - Holistic Select - Avoderm All of these offer low fat foods.

| Natural Balance has some low fat foods- if you need something very low fat, you may need something prescription- did your vet recommend anything?

| The vet said she needs to lose 1-2 pounds. She also has had pancreatitis, so I am looking for a low fat or weight management food. |

| Uni also has pancreatitis and I have her on Honest Kitchen. She is on the "preference" one. There is no meat in it, you add your own meat, so you can control how much fat gets in there. It isn't a kibble though, so you have to rehydrate it at each meal time, plus the time it takes to cook whatever meat you put in it. It takes a bit more time than tossing some kibble into a bowl, but it works for Uni, she is doing very well on it.

| I have 2 that are on the DM prescription dog food right now and they love it. I buy the canned and kibble and just interchange for a variety. Kayla has lost the most. She is probably down now to about 6lbs. Needs to lose about another pound or so. Lexi is a min. schnauzer and has quite a bit more to go. She has lost but slowly. It is coming off and she has more energy. I like the consistancy of the canned food. Its not hard and grainy feeling like some of the other prescription dog foods. You might ask your vet if they carry it and I think you will be pleased with it. When mine go back to eating regular dog food they will eat their Welliness, but just not as much, and no free feeding. I had to learn the hard way. |

| My dog Barney who had two episodes of pancreatitis (5 years apart) sometimes eats Royal Canin Gastrointestinal lowfat. It's a prescription food but I buy it at Petsmart (I had my vet write a prescription and now I just buy it there with a card). I like the kibble - it's small, smells ok, and Barney does great on it when he isn't eating his home cooked food. It's very low fat but he's not losing weight on it, and he is satisfied. You could ask your vet to check this food out and see if it is appropriate for your dog.
