Yorkie Talker | Dry Skin & Scabs My little Louis (3yr) has a dry scabby spot on his back and head. I'm worried that this may be a skin allergy of some sort b/c he continuously scratches, and today I noticed one bleed. Could this be a reaction to dog food? He has been eating Taste of The Wild (assorted flavors) since January. I'm also wondering if the hot Florida weather could have anything to do with it. His brother, AJ (4yrs) is totally fine. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions like good brands of hypoallergenic dog foods, ant- itch remedies, etc. that could give my little guy some relief. Thanks, Bellenoir426 |

Yorkie Talker | Update Louis' skin issue has recently escalated to become an eye issue. He has scratched his eye to the point of swelling and redness. We took him to the vet today and were told that this is allergy related. They gave him a Vetalog injection and a hydro cortisone eye ointment. Has anyone had any experience like this? I'm hoping the constant itching stops and his eye clears up. I was told that it may take about 10 days for the eye to completely heal. I've attached a picture of his eye. |
