| Help my pup has gas like no other I switched Snooze to the Wellness dog food after so many people on here suggested it to me when he was having some itchy skin. Well the skin is all better and no more itching! So thank you for that! But he now has some nasty smelling gas. It seems to mostly happen when he is sleeping. Is this just normal or what? Thanks for any thoughts! |

| You could try putting a probiotic on his food.... provides all the good flora in the gut for proper digestion...

| LOL. Sorry...the title of the thread is funny! Teddy has gas sometimes and I think it's definitely food related. Since he sleeps with me...one night it got pretty bad (he sleeps on the pillow right next to me so right by my face). They were AWFUL but I managed to fall asleep anyways. Well, when I woke up MY ENTIRE ROOM SMELLED AWFUL. LOL...YUCK

| My dogs had horrible gas on any food I've tried that was made by Diamond. That includes the Diamond brands, Kirkland's, Premium Edge, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Canidae, Solid Gold, Wellness. Yes, Diamond makes dry foods for all these. I have been using Nature's Variety (I mostly use the Prairie chicken and brown rice formula) and my dogs have done very well on it and don't have that terrible gas problem anymore. I would try switching foods if I were you and see what happens. You can try using a probiotic or try giving some plain yogurt daily. That seems to help. I just hate to buy extra supplements because the food doesn't agree with the dogs. Look for one that works. |

| Thanks everyone for the help. So I think I am going to try another food for him. I just cant handle this yuckiness anymore. Even my daughter (age 3) will come and say "mommy get Snooze out of my playroom he is being stinky again" LOL So yeah time for something new. So now my question is what food should I get. He is on the wellness super 5 mix for puppy. He is about 6 months old and weighs 6lbs 5 oz. He is super active and plays most of the day. What do you all suggest I try for him? Thanks for the help. |

| Merrick Puppy Plate dry and wet. Petco sells it, and you can also order it online. Our 2 six month old Pups love it.... |

| Thank You. I will look this one up too. Do you all stick with just dry kibble or do you mix in some wet too? I was just reading some use wet and no dry some mix some use no wet only dry. So far we have only been doing dry but I am open to wet if it will help his little issue. |

Start by looking at the ingreds in what you were prev feeding; then, compare that label to the Wellness. Try to see what is different - and that may give clues not only to what helps w/ itching, but also what to avoid for the gas. From there, pick a new food (reading ingreds) based upon what you learned from the previous 2 ingredient labels. A probiotic may help. I like Dogzymes from Nature's Farmacy.
