| We're having a horrible tick year too. I got the tick collar from the vet - but still afraid to put it on Lucy. I've been staying from the paved trails that go through the woods. Ewww! Can they really survive being flushed???

| I have to use K9 Advantix here in MD or I find ticks. Frontline/Frontline Plus did not work for us.

| Levi got Lymes while on frontline. Since then we have switched to Advantix with a Lymes vaccination. I have only seen one tick on him this year, it was a tiny dear tick, but it was already dead. Nothing on Lily so far. Fingers crossed.

| That is what I have read. Quote:

We decided to give the Frontline one last shot, this time working harder to make sure we put enough on and that we don't wash it off. We are also going to stay away from the areas where we think we are picking them up. Teddy also has a couple of mysterious bites, exactly like the ones he had last year. They go away quickly with a little antiseptic dabbed on them.

| That reminds me... Don't know HOW I forgot but... EWWWWWW! Just yesterday I found a tick in the house (on the couch) right after the boys came in. Was moving really slow so the K9 Advantix must have started working on it. I figured it jumped off one of the boys right after I brought them in cuz they jumped on the couch. I picked it up with a tissue then hit it (in the tissue) with a hammer. SQUISH! I checked it was smashed then flushed it. Hahaha! They will survive a flush alone. They must be TERRIBLE this year.
