| Pros: They can't get caught on anything leading to injury and pain. Cons: Pain from an unnecessary surgery (with some anesthetic risk). Unless there is a problem, I wouldn't do it... If we are talking about very young pups, then removing them can help prevent later issues.

| I think it all depends on how they are attached. We had a poodle whose dewclaw was barely attached, just kind of hanging there- it was removed when she was spayed to prevent later injury. Chloe has her dewclaws and they are well secured- so I chose not to remove them- I keep them clipped and she has never had a problem.

| Uni came with her's already gone. I am assuming at the same time as tail docking. I had a foster who had his, (he came from a pet store ) he was very shy about anyone touching his paws, so it was incredibly difficult to clip them. If left untrimmed, they can grow into a circle and pierce the skin.

| Princess had hers removed when her tail was docked per her breeder, I thought that was standard? That was something I had on my list of things to ask her that I found during my research.

| If we are talking about puppies I would suggest it. Callies were not done and about a month ago it got stuck on something outside and riped off leaving her vein and nerve exposed big time and she had to be sedated and have her vein and nerve cut back.
