| ![]() I don't want to sift through tons of old threads right now. So, if you have used it, were there any problems and did you feel like it did stop fleas from reproducing?

| ![]() Hey Crystal....not sure how the fleas are in your area but in Warren, we are good with the Sentinel. No fleas as of yet. I just put my boys back on it now that the temps are KINDA going upward. Now, we do live in a brand new sub with not many dogs so that is probably helping as well. I don't like topicals as they scare me so I went with the Sentinel. Good Luck- Viv

| ![]() We live very close. I don't use anything for fleas and just treat if we see one. But thinking I'd be less nervous letting her play in the grass if she was on something. So still thinking about it... Thank you ![]()

| ![]() Are you one that uses/used Frontline Plus on Ellie May??? I am taking the boys to NYC this summer for 3 months and am thinking I will need something stronger when I'm there as we will be going to parks daily. Like I said, I am scared of topicals but have heard Frontline Plus half doses are pretty effective and ok for our little guys. Let me know... Thanks- Viv

| ![]() I used Sentinal for years with no adverse reaction....However, when I began exhibiting/breeding...the dogs that were to be bred I changed to Intercepter...same thing without the flea poison.....

Good to hear that you haven't seen reactions. That is always my main concern because Ellie reacts to so much. A bit concerned that it's going to nauseate her like most other things... We use just plain Interceptor now and she does well with it.

| ![]() I have a question (if you don't mind me busting in your thread!).... are any of these medications for ticks as well? I keep reading about Sentinel, Capstar, etc.... I'm sooo sick of these topicals putting on Jackson's back that make him all gross and gooey for 2 days om his hair but ticks are my #1 concern here. I've never even seen a flea nor have any of our dogs ever had fleas... so maybe they're just not prevalent in our area? But ticks definitely are!! So anyways, my point being, my main concern is ticks, is there any type of pill that can somehow deter them? Probably not, but just thought I'd ask.

| ![]() I have used Sentinel for both Chase and Calvin since they were puppies. We have never had a reaction to it, and I really think it helps a ton with fleas. I saw a flea (the first one I've ever seen, had to google for a pic since I didn't know what they looked like lol) last October on Chase. After checking Calvin I found one too. Called the vet and they recommemded Comfortis, so I went and picked it up. Gave it to them with their dinner, and about an hour later there were 4 dead fleas on the bed. If we didn't have Sentinel, I think it would have been alot worse. The thought of fleas in my bed or even our house makes me all itchy. No flea problems since ![]() |

| ![]() Nope. ![]() Frontline does work for some (I know it hasn't worked for you though). Anything with amitraz should work (ProMeris which is still topical and Preventix tick collars). Advantix is about the best bet, esp. if Frontline doesn't work. There are a lot of dogs who can't be on it though because it makes them feel like something is crawling on their skin. The vet office here doesn't even carry it because of that. I guess they had too many complaints. In the city in Michigan, there is so little tick risk.

| ![]() I have two of mine on Sentinel (because they will not eat the Heartgard) and they have been on it for three years without any problems. For my others I always used Heartgard and Advantage. Honestly, I have not been using Advantage for some time since I never see any fleas. Lucky me because I have friends who are always battling those things.
