YorkieTalk Newbie! | Coughing a lot at night, is it because of kennel cough?? Hi everyone, I am a newby here and to yorkies, I recently had my baby (harley) from the pound. When I had him he had kennel cough for which he had tablets. I have been told by the vet that the kennel cough has gone but the poor little mite coughs really badly and only at night. Is this as a result of the kennel cough going as the vet said or signs of something worse?. I will be grateful of any help please as I have no idea about doggie illness's. Thanks Nicola and lots of licks from Harley |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! Kennel cough can last a while... but the vet is the only one who can tell you why he's coughing. I would take him back to the vet, maybe a change in antibiotic is necessary... Good Luck and I hope your pup feels better soon...

| I just earlier today went to the Library here and saw 3 videos on coughing. Each cough was very distinctive from the other. Why don't you try to go there and look up "kennel cough, reverse sneezing and collapsed trachea" or some such arrangement of those terms just to see what the kennel cough really sounds like. The kennel cough was evocative of a child's whooping cough sound to me. Is that what your little guy's sounds like?

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Hi, Thanks for your post. I have taken him back to the vets (a different one from last time) and he does still very much have Kennel Cough, He has some more meds and hopefully that will clear it. Nicola and Harley |

| Poor baby, I hope he clears up very soon. That sounded awful on the video. My prayers go out to your Harley.
