| It was about 1.5 hours for us. We got to watch the spay (through an observation window) and the Dr was great with Roxy. She kept Roxy with her the whole time until we picked her up in the late afternoon. Roxy even went to a staff meeting! It was crazy. We thought it'd be a quiet night but she was running around crazy as soon as we got her! |

| Thanks everyone, the vet gave me a paper that showed the breakdown of the cost but I can't seem to find it. I remember pain meds, and head cone on the list. Lexie's still losing baby teeth do I'm gonna wait to spay her, in the meanwhile I'll look around at dif prices. I really like my vet but I don't see why the price has to be so high |

We have an amazing vet but she wants over $500.00 includes dental, neuter, isoflourine, monitoring, pain meds, pre-op labs and microchip. If we spent another 200 she would take the dew claw left in the front.

| My cost didn't include a cone for Yuna, but even with the cone, it shouldn't cost that much. I opted to get one from here from Bo (Username: Mom to Hot Rod). It's a soft collar so it wouldn't hurt her and more comfortable than a stiff cone. But honestly, I didn't have to put the collar on yuna for long. She didn't lick too much. I usually left it on while I put the ointment so she wouldn't lick it. It is pretty crazy to see the price differences on this post! Quote:

Our normal vet is at Pasco Animal Hospital. I know he charges $65 for a spay (including blood work). I'm not sure what kind of anesthesia he uses though (I forgot but it's not the old one). He sees TONS of very small dogs. He's done surgery 2x on Lily (my Yorkie mix). Who are you currently using? | |

Thank you for the information! I will definitely check it out. I want Teddi to have the best care but $500 is a bit steep for us at the moment.
