| So Worried About My Little Boy! Yesterday I decided to give my little 3 year old yorkie a treat by cooking him a nice turkey burger. I cut it in half, chopped it up and feed it to him. Just the meat no seasoning. This morning, my baby was making some strange little noise like if he wanted to throw up. Well, he did but it was like foam when he did. I'm thinking I should have not given him the cooked turkey burger and just stuck to feeding him his dry dog food. I hope this will pass for him. |

| Was it a pre-made turkey burger or turkey meat that you bought? Turkey is often infused with a lot of salt. Could also be the way it was cooked or that you fed too much. Hope your boy feels better soon.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Glad he is feeling better. I stopped giving them people food because one or more would end up with tummy problems for a day or two.

If you want to give a special treat every once in awhile, boil some plain chicken breast. Do not give more than the equivalent of what you would normally serve of kibble. Definitely stay away from pre-made foods and consult the sticky post in this forum for safe foods. Serve only small amounts. My boys are 7 & 8 pounds and when I give them a special treat, it is usually a teaspoon or half a teaspoon. Then I deduct the equivalent amount of kibble from their meals.

| Mine have been having so many tummy issues; I've had to quit giving them people food too. Maybe once they get straighened out - we'll try something bland they can both enjoy. But not right now! Glad your little one is feeling better.

| So worried about my little boy My Spuddy is a trip! I go to the supermarket to get a few items only to return home to see a torn zip lock bag which at one time today contained 2 small ham and cheese sandwiches all over my living room floor. Here is the funny part. My little Mr. Spuddy decided to eat only the ham and cheese off the bread. This little greedy piglett not only eats the ham and cheese off the bread, I come home to see that he ate his food I left in his bowl as well! He must of gotten the sandwiches out of my work bag. |

| I am glad that your dog is feeling better but I'm not sure why you aren't being more cautious. What if he ate chocolate out of a bag? There may be a time that you aren't so lucky.

I agree with Karen ^^, you need to be extra cautious. A food incident like this one can be deadly, or it can your pup extremely ill and cost you a couple thousand dollars in vet bills.

| Happy to report that Spuddy is doing fine after the ham and cheese incident. No tummy ache for him. Just a lot of popping. For now on dog food will be continued to him for feeding and boiled chicken as a treat. I read about not feeding them grapes, chocolates and other dangerous foods. |
