| Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm sorry to hear Thor has LP, but as others have posted it's entirely possible surgery will never be needed. Ruby also has grade 1-2 LP.....at the next V-day Ball, they can talk about their bad knees as they dance the night away

| Thor's Human Donating Member | Hee! Has anyone ever seen or tried doggie dancing? I'm wondering, do people ever train two dogs to dance together? That seems like it could be really cute (though also really difficult).

| Oh Thor, I'm sorry to hear about your LP, but it's not the end of the world. Uni had been diagnosed with grade 3, then rediagnosed with grade 2 after one year on Cosequin. She has only lifted her leg once. Does Thor lift his leg much on walks? I still let Uni run and jump as she pleases, it's when she jumps off things I get more nervous. I have heard that in extreme cases, the hind legs become so bow legged, that the front legs become compromised as well and can develop arthritis.

| I know how you feel to receive the diagnosis of LP. I know my heart sank when the vet told me my pup had it in both knees. Calleigh had a grade III in her left leg. She didn't have any symptoms either. I took her to an Orthopedic Specialist. He recommend that she have the surgery, which she did. She made out just fine. She also has a grade 2 in her right leg. I'm not doing anything at this time. She seems to be just fine. I'm not worried about it. If she has pain or starts limping I most likely will have to do something at that point. For now, she's jumping, running and nothing is slowing her down. The diagnosis isn't as bad as it sounds. I never let Calleigh jump down from furniture. Once in a great while, she will jump off the bottom step. No sense in asking for trouble.
