| Ellie eats tuna right now. Definitely not recommending that anybody give this on a regular basis, but she is very sensitive and that with enzymes has at least stabilized her.

| White tuna was another option to start Pippin on. We settled on the tilapia because it was less expensive. The vet wanted to pick an exotic protein because there would be less of a chance that he had eaten it before. Her first suggestions were rabbit, buffalo, ostrich or white tuna. I don't even know where I would buy those items where I live. If they did carry them I can't image what they would cost. |

| We used to do tilapia. Stopped working as well as I wanted it to though.

Rabbit is on Barney's list of approved foods but we are not going there! LOL we stick with chicken breast and he manages to tolerate it well. Daisy's list is the shortest on protein. She can have chick peas or she can have chick peas. LOL. When her tolerance for that runs out, so will her luck! We've been through every protein and she can tolerate nothing but chick peas. She loves them too.

That is my worst fear. If we keep changing Pippins diet, and never find a food he can tolerate. The grocery store by me has a great sale on frozen tilapia right now at 2.99 a pound. I went and bought a freezer, last night, so I can go stock up. My luck the fish isn't going to work and I'm going to have a life time supply of it. This may be a silly question, but if Daisy's tolerance does run out do they make a synthetic protein you can put on her grains? | |

| Just out of curiosity....have you tried soybeans? My pups love them, and they are a nutritional powerhouse. They contain protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, not to mention vitamins, calcium, iron, and essential fatty acids, plus much more. It might be an alternative. I have Colitis along with other GI issues and Oatmeal is terrific. I also feed it to my little girl who has Lymes. She has had stomach problems for as long as I can remember. I wish you the best of luck with your little one. |
