| Do any of your dogs just not like the taste of Orijen? I rotate Knox between TOTW and Blue Buffalo. I bought him a bag of Orijen a couple of weeks ago. I fed him a bowl, and he ate it all up. Then the next day he wouldn't eat it, not a bite. After twenty-four hours of not eating, I fed him one of the other brands, and he hungrily ate it. Now I can hand feed him kibble, and he will sniff the Orijen but not eat it, and if I put it in his mouth, he'll spit it out, but he gobbles up kibbles of BB and TOTW. I can mix all three brands in a small pile, and he will eat everything but the Orijen. I wonder if he's half human and just isn't fond of healthy food. I'll give him another week off the Orijen to see if his taste for it returns. If not, I'll give the Orijen to my GF. She has a big Yorkie, and he'll eat anything. Her mom was feeding him Pedigree until I gave her some of Knox's food, and her mom was blown away by how much smaller and less stinky his poop was. Now she opts for the better stuff. | Kaji does not like red (meat) orijen. He ate one piece, took the second and spit it out. Took a third piece, spit it out again, and then began to roll around on top of the food. He loves the poultry Orjien, and happily eats that, but the red he wouldn't eat. He wanted to play with it.

| Jackson, surprisingly, seems to love the taste of Orijen Regional Red the best. He is sooo super picky and always has been. And Regional Red is the one food that he will go over and munch on (if left out in the bowl) without me mixing wet food, etc. Quote:
LOL! Ya know what's funny? Jackson *hates* potato chips. Anything with potato as a matter of fact - french fries, baked potato, mashed potatoes, etc. He will NOT touch them!

| Yeah...that's weird. Knox won't eat hot dogs thank goodness. My grandma tried to chop him one up, and he turned his nose up at it. No matter how many times I ask them, my family insists on spoiling him. |

| My dad told me recently he feels guilty having a meal or a snack in front of Kaji. He can't resist the sad puppy eyes! So he puts Kaji in the bedroom, snuggled in his bed, and then goes and has a snack. My dad would definitely give in if he knew I wouldn't give him an earful when I got home. (Kaji is on a strict diet)

| I hear ya. My family is the same. But I guess I'm guilty of it too. I tend to give him a little bite of alot of what I eat (but not the crappy stuff anyways, but he won't touch cracker-type things, and chips, etc, anyways). Anything meat though... he's THERE. Hot dogs, steak, chicken, he will do anything for, lol. He's a very happy doggy when we bring home leftover steak from a restaurant. I just wash off the spices and mix it with his dog food. Chicken, too. Sometimes I boil a chicken breast just for him to have during the week, lol.

| Levi has always happily eaten his Orijen, but he is not a picky eater at all. He eats Orijen Adult (chicken based). Have you tried regional red or 6 fish? They sell small sample bags. Around $3 for .88 lb. |

| No I haven't. Like I said, he ate the first bowl, but now he is rejecting it in favor of his old brands. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Mine love Orijen regular and Orijen fish. I tried the read meat variety one time, and they ate it but two of them got sick afterward. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but I haven't given them that again and haven't had any problems. A friend has a beagle who's a picky eater, and he wolfed the Orijen regular down when he was given it as a treat. For the OP, it could just be that you switched to Orijen too quickly with that first feeding. It might have upset their stomachs. Either that or that really don't like it!

| Snickers hated all the varieties of Orijen yet LOVES Acana Grasslands and Prairie so we happily use Acana instead. I was a little happier with the protein content in Acana also. Snick & Viv

| Lol, aren't these little buggers so funny? Jackson does not like Acana Prairie or Pacifica, and he won't touch the Orijen 6 Fish, and isn't a fan of the original Orijen either... haha! Them and their preferences!
