| What should I feed Lily? Hello everyone, I'm new to the board but I've got to say, just looking through some of these threads has been so very helpful! My Lily is a little over 2 years old and she may just be THE pickiest eater you will ever meet. I've had to keep changing brands of food with her, and recently I read several articles stating some of the disgusting ingredients that are used in dog food - so I completely stopped feeding her dog food and started making her food. Of course, she's gotten bored and for example, today, she hasn't bothered eating. And her breath has gotten a little funky. I've only been feeding her chicken and veggies, I even gave her some rice with that (brown). Its just upsetting that I still can't manage to get her on a set diet - is there a dog food out there that is completely all natural with all the nutrients she needs? Or should I keep cooking for her? PLEASE HELP! |

| I feed my two Wellness small breed dry, but when they're in picky moods I crumble Stella & Chewys (dry raw) over the top. I sometimes use the frozen, but it takes a little time to prepare. They eat it all up right away when I add one of those The good thing is it's really good for them.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | You have to be careful when home cooking. Unless you know what you're doing, you could omit some important ingredients. I feed my dogs Orijen, which is ranked among the best out there. I supplement with a home-cooked recipe that I found in a book, but really, I think the Orijen is all they need. Mine have great appetites. I think some of that is because I feed them at regular times twice a day, and I put the food bowls away if they don't eat. Eventually, they catch on and realize it's not wise to pass up a meal. Good luck. And keep searching. There are lots of high-quality foods out there. Just stay away from grocery store dog food.

| We feed Innova small bites to Shelby, Seymour & Seeger. They are very small kibble and yet crunchy. My advice is to do some research on dogfoods... there are several good threads here on YT. Once you have picked out 2 or three that you think will be a good food, write the company and try to get a sample. That way you can see if she likes it before buying a bag of it..... also there are some foods that can be brought back for a full refund if they won't eat it.

There is a thread on the samples. When I was looking for Rosie a new food I didn't have much luck with them sending samples to me. However, it may depend on who you get. I know Wellness will send out samples and a coupon. Good luck http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html
