				 | Heartworm Preventative Our vet prescribes Heartguard for Troy and I must say although this is a "meaty" chewable Troy won't eat it. So what am I to do. I want to make sure he gets his meds but he doesn't eat it. I'm most concerned now because last week Troy had a tummy virus and the vet put him on antibiotics. This worked but the vet also suggested that staying regular with Heartworm meds would also keep intestinal parasites at bay. How do you get your Heartworm meds in?

				 | I had to put it in his mouth, when he chewed he decided he liked it... or I would dip it in some chicken baby food or cheeze whiz,(just enough to get him to eat it).

				 | My Pom will eat his. Princess (our yorkie) will not eat hers. So, I must make her swallow it. She will spit it out a few times before I finally manage to get it down. Ask the vet if this can be crushed and mix with your pups food? |

				 | I have one pup that I have to tear the Heartgard into little pieces for. Then, I had feed it piece by piece. Then, I have two that simply want no parts of it....they are on Sentinel. The others love Heartgard.

				 | I put the Intercepter on my older boy's treat plate and he thinks he is getting something naughty, something I dropped. My other boy is smarter and requires a little more trickery. I wrap up the pill in a few slivers of parmesan cheese, or I put it in a stinky Zuke's treat. Then I put it in his mouth and make sure he swallows before I let him go.

				 | my vet gives revolution, it's topical and you put it on the back of the neck, perhaps you could ask if they have something more along that line at your vet |
