Not too long ago a member posted on here about her little Yorkie. Bumped into a chair (or table?) while playing and seemed fine after. But the little one died the next day. Unless we are well trained in vet care we honestly can't say the dog is fine. Would be worth eating Colcannon for a week or two to afford the vet bill.

I don't know why this happened, I only know that head trauma in Yorkies should never go untreated. Their brain size along with the shape of their skulls causes a prediposition to injury in this breed. And the sooner they get treated, the better (especially for this type of injury), for a full recovery. There are injuries you can let go a day or two without treatment, but this is not one of them. The sooner the better in this case. He could also be bleeding into his brain right now. Small blood vessels commonly burst on impact. You can't tell, I can't tell, even if he were in front of me. He may not have anymore symptoms, that does not mean he is out of danger. The fact that he did have a seizure tells me the impact of his fall was great enough to cause catastrophic injury, and that treatment may indeed be necessary to save his life.

| And, again, it's the shape of their skulls and the size of their brains that sets them up for brain injury, not how far they fall. My first puppy was coming down the stairs, slowly, and on the last step to the ground, he became distracted and looked up at something. It was enough to make him lose his balance and I heard his head hit the concrete. It was loud, and I got an immediate headache on hearing his head hit. The step was 6 inches high and he was only 2 inches off the ground when he lost his balance. After a few minutes, he started walking goofy, and I rushed him to my vet for treatment. By the time we got there his symptoms were gone, but the vet said it's best to treat him anyway, as the symptoms could very well return. Bumps on the head and cold symptoms are the most easily treated occurences, but they are all too often the most easily ignored, or put off, and they shouldn't be, because they can be deadly. Many people don't realize how dangerous they are, until it's too late. I pray that this does not happen to you and your little one.

| I know it's been stressed over and over again, but you need to call your vet and explain what has happened and see what kind of payment options are available to bring him in and checked out. This is seriously nothing to fool around with or wait on. I'm sure if you have a good and caring vet they will work with you.
