| Wow I'm taking Brady to get his rabies shot next week. The vet actually wanted to do it today but my breeder contract said no shots or anything for the first 72 hours and she also told me he didnt need it til 6 months so I hesitated. But the vet told me that legally, I need to have him get it done now so Melissa (my breeder) said ok. Now I'm kind of scared. Would it help if I got him vaccinated later? Or does that not matter? |

The vet said about a month for Kash. I'm all for prednisone, it has saved my life many times over but because I know what it did for me I worry for my lil one. It's a risk well worth taking. Kasha doesn't seem to notice it's there ... she doesn't lick or bug it. She has a pretty high pain tolerance (she showed no sign of pain after 24 hours of spay) so she could be uncomfortable and just not be bothered by it. She's on melatonin which is making her sleepy but she still is in great spirits. She's a very happy pup. The wound doesn't look any bigger or worse than it has which is good. It's going to be a long road back to normal. Hair or not I just want the booboo to go away. I'm glad we are all sharing this experience because frankly, I never knew anything more than pain was out there. While fear isn't helpful, it's better to be informed. Attached is a close up of her wound. We clipped away some excess hair so it wouldn't get gooey.

| I talked to a person that has been breeding and showing Yorkies for 20 years yesterday and this person told me that neither the vaccines nor heart worm medications are really formulated for dogs as small as a lot of Yorkies. They said their vet cuts the dose down but some vets don't and when they called the heartworm med companies about cutting pills in half were told not to because they don't know exactly where on the pill the medicine goes. It may not be distributed exactly in the middle. They also said it wasn't economically feasible to make a heartworm pill for really toy sized dogs. This makes me mad/ |

| Thank you! (I think this comment was to us) You would never know Piccolo went through all that now. She is one happy, sweet girl.

| Every time Andy gets a needle. She also gives him a Benadryle shot. He gets bad reactions to his needles as well

| This is her "scab" which is where her lump was. It is the injection site, but it seems to have spread. The dermatologist said that when its right on the injection site it tends to look like that. I don't think you can see in this photo, but the yellow portion is where the secondary infection is. Also, love Piccolo's name! Very creative!
