| Gassy dog problem OK Reno has the worst gas I have ever known. I think he has gone potty somewhere and when I check it is just he has passed gas! Anyone any suggestions on what to do for this problem. Could it be the change in diet? I have no idea what the puppy mill was feeding him - probably something cheap.

| I noticed that both Max and Lily had that issue until I started using a digestive enzyme. I think gas is suggestive of digestion problems.

| What digestive enzyme? Never had to look into this before. I am in the dark so to speak.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | It could just be the change in diet, and he just needs time to adjust. Is he a gulper when it comes to food or water- that can cause excess gas, too (if it goes in, it needs to come out...) You could also try probiotics to help with digestion.

I think it maybe because of the change in food for Reno.

| Fizz does the same thing to her food...I assumed she was hunting it down and 'subduing' it to enhance her enjoyment of her dinner. As for the gas, I will follow this post with interest as Fizz on occasion can clear a room. We attributed it to the duck strips we use for training - but could be wrong.

| I believe petco has a different brand. I got mine at a hollistic pet food store. I think this is the one I saw at Petco..I compared the ingredients and they are very similar if not the same. http://www.petco.com/product/111201/...-for-Pets.aspx

I just googled Prozyme and came up with this: Prozyme at PETCO So hopefully they will have it in the store. It says 1/4 teaspoon to each cup of food. I free feed the dogs, but could just put a cup down at a time. I assume it will be OK for all three dogs to have it. They are all on dry food. This is all new to me, having to add something to the food, and I have had dogs since 1984. Guess I have been lucky.

| thanks I am going to have Bruce take me to Petco and see if they have it in the store, then I can start Reno on it today! I was just going to send Bruce, but rethinking that idea, I want to make sure he gets the right product

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | As far as probioitics- you can go the easy route and just give plain, non fat yogurt if the boys will tolerate dairy. Otherwise, Petco carries a couple different brands.
