| You actually should brush your yorkie's teeth everyday! We've made it part of a routine, so the girls get their teeth brushed every night at bedtime and then their bedtime massage. Tough life they lead.

| I actually use something called Leba III - it removes plaque off of their teeth and is holistic- my vet recommended it and I spray it in his mouth- he doesn't love it but it works |

| You should start when they are puppies, so by the time they have all their adult teeth in they will be comfortable having their teeth brushed. My girls don't love it, but they really don't mind it either.

| I've heard about this. My only hesitation is that I was told you can NOT brush their teeth if you use it. I was very uncomfortable with the idea of stopping the brushing of their teeth and moving to a spray instead. I do supplement with the Petzlife gel 2x a week though. I've heard good things about Leba III, but I wish you could use it in conjunction with brushing. Unfortunately, I just don't think there is a suitable replacement for brushing.

No Longer a Member | Ain't that the truth, lol! I brush Rizzo's every other day, he doesn't like it but I don't want him to get yucky teeth. I'll start with the daily brushing, it seems like that is what a majority of people do here and the usually know what they're talking about. |

| I brush my baby's teeth everyday and he loves it. It helps that my breeder was also a groomer so he had good habits when I got him. |

| Yes, the bristles of a brush remove the film, build-up that rinses won't and get below the gumline when you carefully brush there. A brush massages the gumline and encourages circulation in the gum. I've seen very ill people who could only rinse their mouths with the special dental rinses to destroy bacteria in ICU come out with awful teeth, dark, dingy with build-up along the sides of each tooth! Gross-looking. Only the bristles of a brush will take of some kinds of build-up off teeth in humans and until I read differently, suspect it's the same with dogs.
