| ![]() Hello, I was just wondering if these ingredients are "Yorkie approved" so I can switch Kenzie to this new kibble brand called GAL Ultimate Natural Nutrition by Hagen, or to stay with Royal Canin Puppy 33. First 5 ingredients are Chicken meal, oatmeal meal, brewer's rice, chicken fat (with mixed tocoferols, source of vitamin E), barley, salmon meal. It also lists blue and red cranberries, dried apples, dried carrots, rosemary extract, oregano, dehydrated spinach, dehydrated orange, dehydrated broccoli, thyme, dried mint, dried ginger, folic acid, dried carob. Tried the kibble rating thread and it got a score of 106, according to my "ecuation". Do you think its okay for yorkies? Thanks in advance.

| ![]() It should be fine. Evaluate the food by watching your dog. Is it palatable and will the dog eat it? Are the stools good? Does the dog maintain good weight, healthy skin and hair? I feed a variety of foods. What one food is lacking another will provide. |

| ![]() It looks much better than Royal Canin. there are too many fillers in Royal Canin. As long as you stay away from By-product and corn, also grain free is an added bonus. The above post suggests a variety of foods, you may have to combine stuff to meet the required nutrients, etc. For example I feed NOW! which is similar to yours suggested above, but I also supplement with Trippet, which provides a bit more meat and stuff.

| ![]() Thanks for the feedback. I really want to switch foods cause I've noticed that Kenzie maybe losing some weight, even though she eats like there's no tomorrow. Don't know what's in the Royal Canin kibble that makes her go crazy to eat it, she inhales it and is always wanting more and get all jumpy and hungry. I mean, maybe it tastes that good but why is she always hungry? So, if I try the new food, can I add bits of organic chicken breast to it so its a bit more nutritious?
