| Need Help/Advice little one has mucus in stool I have had my little girl for 10 days. Her stools are formed but very mushy. Not all the time but some of the time I see musus looking stuff in her stool. I know this may gross some but I used a pick and got some of it out of one of her "deposits". it does not look like tape worm. It isn't moving at all. She has gained weight since I got her. In ten days she has gone from 2.5 to 2.10. Does that seem right? I give her a dose of NutriCal every morning. Please tell me what you know from your experiences. A breeder friend of mine said that it might be Coccidia. Thank you for reading this and helping.

If not, take her to vet with stool sample Coccidia is easily treated but deadly if not treated.

| Nutri Cal can also cause loose stools. It is really rich.

| If she is eating and drinking water, nicely, she shouldn't need nutrical...Just think of nutrical as a type of "rescue" medication, if she were to stop eating or drinking and exhibited hypoglycemia...Probably, the nutrical is causing a bit of loose stool...Congrats on your new baby...What an exciting time in your life |

| Thank you for the information about NutriCal. Yes it is an exciting time. Tiring sometimes too. I was giving her the NutriCal every morning for the past 3 mornings because those were my first 3 days back to work sincce I got her. I took our first week together off. I just wanted to make sure that we did not have any issues while I was away. She has been doing fine so I will stop now. My mom came over and checked on her midday on Monday and then again today. It was actually hard to go back to work and leave them. We have a ball in the evenings though so it is still good.

| Going from 2.5 to 2.10 in 10 days is excellent, no problems there.

| Update Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on what to do with my little Star. I just wanted to post an update because I am so excited. I took Star to the vet this afternoon because her stool was still mushy. The doctor checked her all over and said that she looked and sounded very healthy. They ran a fecal test to check for parasites and Coccidia. Everything came back negative. He did say that sometimes you can get a false neg with Coccidia so I will watch her for a few days. He gave me a standing perscription for the Albon. He said that if she does not get better and continues to have the mushy stools to come in and pick the prescription up and keep her on it for 10 days. He really does not think that I will see that though. She also weighs a whopping 3lbs 4ozs. In 4 weeks she has gained 1 pound. Yeah Star!!!! We have discovered one sad thing. She gets mildly carsick. If anyone has any suggestions for helping her get through this I would greatly appreciate it. I want to make sure to take her places and to socialize her but I do not want to make her miserable either.
