| Calvin's unrinanalysis results My vet called me back today and said that Calvin had crystals in his urine & that they might have formed together and when he pee'd that they tore his uretha. He said that it could be his diet or that he just might be predisposed to them. I told him that I just switched his food last week from Diamond small breed puppy to Wellness Super 5 Mix puppy. He said that it could be the new food b/c the crystals were so microscopic. He told me not to change anything yet that he will check his urine again in a few weeks. He also said that he might have to go on prescription food. I feel bad if its the new food b/c here I thought I was doing something good for him and it might not be. He never had any issues with the old food. Has anyone ever dealt with this? |

| HI, my vet just called and that Minnie has the same thing. I didn't know either there were different crystals. My minnie has been very picky picky. i have her on life's abundance and chicken. sometimes she won't eat any dog food and only chicken. she had a uti and put her on antibiotics and two weeks later for a urine sample. then they said uti is gone but now these crystals and could be put on special food. is this from chicken? i'm so depressed. Hope your baby is feeling better. it's so scarey. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Cali has a UTI with crystals about 3-4 years ago and never had a reoccurrence. I hope that is the case with your babies.

| Bladder stones are common with liver shunts. Here is a link that might help: Portosystemic shunts - liver shunts
