My vet called me back today and said that Calvin had crystals in his urine & that they might have formed together and when he pee'd that they tore his uretha. He said that it could be his diet or that he just might be predisposed to them. I told him that I just switched his food last week from Diamond small breed puppy to Wellness Super 5 Mix puppy. He said that it could be the new food b/c the crystals were so microscopic. He told me not to change anything yet that he will check his urine again in a few weeks. He also said that he might have to go on prescription food. I feel bad if its the new food b/c here I thought I was doing something good for him and it might not be. He never had any issues with the old food. Has anyone ever dealt with this?
