Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Icky thread about poop. Okay this is a bit of a yucky question but I need help My Poppy goes poop regular and they are normal stools, not to hard not too soft but the thing is she always has bits stuck to her butt afterwards. So nearly everytime she goes poopy I have to clean her butt and she hates it, she cries and wiggles but it has to be done! She is very good going on her puppy pads and has only had a couple of accidents (wee wee's) but today I caught her trying to do a sneaky poop behind her bed and then again behind the chair! I think she's trying to hide it from me because she dosnt want to get her butt cleaned. Im not ruff or anything when I do it so please dont think that because I am gentle she just dosnt like to get her butt wiped When she is much older (she is only 8 weeks) and ready to go to the groomers for the first time I will ask them to keep the fur on her butt short to try and stop poop getting stuck but what can I do in the mean time? Thanks!

| Cant you just trim that hair around the anus. Thats the only thing that helps. It gets stuck because of the hair also because puppy poop is more soft. Ity gets alot more firmer when they arent a young pup

| Sounds like your gonna have to trim the fur yourself. You'll be glad you did. Might not mean you wont have to clean her tooshie, but at least it will be easier. |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Aw thats good to hear that its not uncommon at her age to squeel at a butt wash Yeah I am not too keen on trimming her butt fur myself I am too scared incase she wriggles and I cut her by accident

| I have done grooming myself on my dogs since they were babies because teh ONE TIME I brought them to a groomer, Daisy screamed when the idiot clipped her nails too short and they came out looking like ugly rats instead of pretty yorkies. I just don't trim their fur around their butt at all - if I trim them, it's overall trimming. I just lift their tails every night before bed and if there is a pancake stuck, I comb it out or wash if a wet one (sorry for the graphic details LOL).

| Just throwing this out there. Does she nibble your hair? I have a big nibbler, and I thought he wasn't actually eating my hair but he was! I cut his booty hair short to keep poop from getting stuck, but I didn't realize the problem was dangling poop because it was caught in my hair that was still in him. You should see him run from the dangly poop. He looks so ashamed it's funny! A quick butt wipe and he's good as new. Now I try to stop him from getting to my hair in the first place.

My mom said there was a long hair in her poop the other day which was probably mine or hers so yeah I didnt think she was actually eating my hair either but she was! I try not to let her do it now but sometimes she just attacks my hair lol hmm I never even thought of that, I will have to keep it tied back from now on thanks for the tip!

| I can always tell when my lil one has a "cling on".... she gets this look on her face and will go to her blankie on the sofa and just sit there....it's a sure till sign for her....I then investigate, put on the plastic gloves and remove the culprit....then she is once again a happy camper romping around...

| I've been wiping all my babies private parts since they were babies, so they got used to it. I always use baby wipe. Since it is gentle enough for human babies, my furbabies don't really mind getting their butt wiped and they smell good.

| I was worried about this when I first trimmed Rocco too. I bought the little manicure scissors with rounded, blunt tips (similar to baby scissors). Worked like a charm.

| My groomer does butt shaves for free, and I've also found I can sometimes stick Ruger in the shower for a second and just spray it off, although it's not much of a problem with him. |
