I am going to unsubscribe from this thread...getting the heeby jeebies.

I found what looked to be snake eggs in my back yard today and nearly lost it. Turned out to be some kind of nut...apparently our little neighborhood squirrel was stashing them. Not even sure what kind of nuts....or where they came from. My son broke one open...I had made an emergency call to him. hah!

It does seem that bot fly strikes may not be related to hygiene or illness/wounds. I am reading various info on both fronts.... I can't read anymore and I made the mistake of watching a youtube video of a dissection. I'm done, good luck with the flies!

I regret reading it and then reading more about it elsewhere but the video I saw a little while ago has given me the feeling something is burrowing....it's just Teddy thank goodness.

It's brilliant. For anyone who doesn't have a fenced in yard just put the dogs in a giant hamster ball and let them run free!

We have never had fly issues with Ellie. I'd freak and make an emergency appt. with her doctor. lol

If it was a problem here, I'd be finding out which flea/tick preventatives work best against them and that is the one I'd use! I picked a tick out of a pup's fur a couple weeks ago and that was enough for me! I crushed the thing with my thumb and it would not die. It just stunned it. Then the way its legs were moving, it looked like it was spinning. EWWWWWWW.

I just ran out of my Advantix, last night we took a trip to Petsmart to get some more. Pnut hasn't had any for a good 2 months, Well apparently they have a new one. Its Advantix II!! I was reading the box and it says it covers flys and fly larve...

Wouldn't this solve the problem? I love Advantix and I think I will love the number 2 more bc it covers more bugs!

Doesn't Advantix also? Looks like it does. I thought the only addition was a growth regulator to either kill eggs or make the fleas unable to reproduce. So instead of the two chemicals in Advantix, there are now three.

All I know is I hate bugs and will use whatever chemical needed to kill them.
