| New food is making a huge difference in my dogs! Two weeks ago or there about, I switched my dogs to Taste Of The Wild dog food, The Bison and Venison formula. OMG I cant believe the difference it has made in my dogs over all health and well being. I did not even know that a change of this magnitude could be brought on just by a change in diet. The biggest change has been in my one of my Bichon's. This dog is 7 years old and she has never been very active! she usually just likes to sit around or lay in my lap.Well now she is acting like a puppy again. I can not believe it. Even my 16 yr old said to me today. Holy crap mom what got into Daizy?? She is even initiating play with the other dogs. She was running around the yard today, chasing the cat, and pouncing after a grasshopper. and running up to me with that paws down tail up posture they do, barking at me trying to get me to play with her. Its like a totally differnt dog..lol..I havent seen this behavior out of her since she was 1 yr old..and my 5 yr old golden retriever. who has been to lazy to play for about 3 years, was playing fetch today. usually if we throw her toy she will just look at us like "yea right, you go get it" Well we were amazed when I was playing fetch with Bella and Riley and she took off and got the toy and brought it back. and she did this for about 20 minutes...sorry if I am rambling but I am in awe. I just had to share. Anyone else ever have a change like this after a food change?

| Is bison and venison high in fat and/or protein? How about duck? I'm looking for a new food for Uni.

| I feed the same formula. Everyone does very well on it, and - being the person responsible for "clean up" - *I* appreciate what comes out the other end. My pups also have excellent teeth ... no tartar or anything. The vet marvels at their teeth and always tells me to keep up the good work with the brushing and all - and I've never brushed their teeth, not once. And they're pushing 3. To Uni's Mommy, it's high protein, but it's grain free, so it's all animal protein (the good stuff), not vegetable protein (the stuff that's not so good for dogs). The local store only carries the Bison/Venison and Wild Salmon; I haven't noticed the Duck. But it's a GREAT food. Pricey, but this is definitely a case where you get what you pay for. And my pups don't eat great quantities of it, because their little bodies utilize it better, so they eat less and poop less. In the long run, it's actually less expensive than cheaper dog foods. Charmed239, I'm pleased to hear that it's done so well for your pups. It's always a good thing when something "works", isn't it? |

The Wetlands and High Praire formulas both contain 32% protein and 18% fat. I have never fed either of those due to a chicken allergy with my oldest. But, I fed a lot of the Pacific Stream (salmon) formula and my guys LOVED it. It only has 25% protein and 15% fat.

I was actually thinking of getting Acana Pacific Stream (but either NO ONE carries Acana or they stay sold out all the time) but now that I know about TOTW, I'm definitely going to stop by that store (probably when we are out and about tomorrow) and get that Buffalo & Venison | |

| My girl loves anything with salmon. I think we will give it a try. Can you buy TOTW at like Petsmart or do I need to get from specialty store?

| I buy it at a local feed/ag supply store. The Tractor Supply stores also carry it.

| I don't think so. But I feed a lot of fish based foods, because of Alexander's chicken allergy and because all of mine seem to love fish.
