I just called the vet to check on him, the tech said he is sitting up looking around, and that they are waiting for more lab results, for what I don't know. I also ok'd the consult for a specialists, Everything I believed in bit me in the butt today. Organic for the dogs all the way, no chemicals on the floors, or near the dogs, only baking soda and vinegar, all natural citrus shampoos, all my wasted time on searching for all natural solutions went out the door when that raccoon crapped in the yard!!! You can't fight parasites with all natural stuff. |

Your right, nothing is for sure yet, except the stool findings, best scenerio is that he gets rid of those parasites and then slowly recooperates and all labs go back to normal. Maybe his system is so out of tune from the worms, that his labs were abnormal from them draining him. All I can say is, I can't wait till tomorrow to make sure he made it through the night. Take care for now, and again thankyou, |

ok you praying now and not before worries me, like you are thinking he's beyond repair. I am sure he's going home with the vet tonight, because last week or 2, I thought she was sick and she said no, I took a sick dog home to monitor and he barked all night and kept her awake. Then she said that's what I get for doing a good deed! Then laughed. back to praying, what's in your thoughts??? |

Listen to this...the vet just called with an update, she's ready to leave with him, and she said all day he was just either sitting like a lump, or sleeping that actuallt 2x she ran over thinking he passed, but now he's up walking around, that he actually started to bark, so they left him out and took him outside and he did his business. She's pleased for now, BUT she said that hetastarch is not a permanent thing, she's hoping with the diarrhea stopping that the electrolytes will go back up and hold it's own. Now what are you thinking, I'm thinking she thinks blood disease of some kind. |

I can't wait till I call her from work tomorrow, maybe I'll be able to bring him home, or maybe I'll be driving to that blood specialist. I'll let ya know, as always thankyou!! |

How is Tucker doing today? |
Tucker is home, he ate 2x for her, and is much more alert, he was mad at me, but when the pack greeted him he actually ran and wagged his tail in pure delight. He's on panacur for the worms, amoxicillin for who knows what, heartguard, calcium, and ID cans of food. Best thinking the worms really knock his system out of wack, and after they are gone he can start going back to normal, worst scenerio, he had something going on before the worm invasion, and the diarrhea and or labs will remain bad and she will have to go further, looking into bone marrow and blood issues. She said it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring the rest in on one of tuckers visits to get checked out. She wants me to give the panacur and heartguard tonight, don't you think that will kill him in is weakened state. I think I should wait a few days for the heartguard. What do you think. So far he didn't take a nap, he's just sitting watching everything. Let me know your thoughts, Thanks again. Tracey |

I am so glad he is doing better to come home. Any relapses straight to specialty hospital though. |
I used to use heartguard at one time, but I stopped when I thought I was going all natural for these guys. I still think I am waiting a few days, he has to take that panacur for 3 days then repeat it in 2 weeks. I\'ll give the heartguard in 4 days. Also if anything happens tonight, I am supposed to take him to a 24 hour ER vet in town. I was reading up on hook worms in your lawn, it\'s pretty tricky, so tomorrow my hubby is enclosing the patio with fencing, so no one touches the grass till winter. They have 2 toy boxes in the yard, I have to get rid of all the toys just so they don\'t have anything in them from laying in the grass forever at times. Any thoughts of that high platelet count yet? |
What kind of specialty hospital, the blood one? |
