| Best Food? Hi everybody - this is my first post to this forum. I own two Yorkie girls, ages almost 3 and the other just turned 1....and I doggiesit my daughter's two Yorkie boys, 4 yrs and 3 years....so I am very busy all the time. My question to all of you is.....Which pet food is best for Yorkies?...I am looking at Wellness, Royal Canin and a new one called Earthborn. I know it should contain l-carnitine which burns fat into energy, plus glucosamine and chondroitin for their joints, the first 3 or 4 ingredients should be meat or fish, and to also contain probiotics such as acidophilus. So, is there any food out there that contains all of these plus 28 g of protein???? Please let me know. Thanks and I am happy to meet all of you fellow Yorkie lovers. Bev |

| Yep, Acanna by champion foods It's got plenty of glucosamine and chondroitan in it...You can get it w/grains (only the good ones, no corn and such) or grain free...I use the Acana grain free (Grasslands)... |

| Welcome aboard. If you ask 100 people, you will get 75 different answers. Our Yourkie is 13 but had a bout of pancreatitis so she is on Iams Low Residue, and does real well on it. Sometimes the so called Ultra Premium brands are not any better than others. What works best for your dog is what counts. You may want to ask your Vet what they recommend, or the Breeder that you got them from. The brands you suggested are all good. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I feed all of mine, babies and adults, HealthyPetNet Premium Natural Healthy Dog Foods I like it because it was formulated by a vet and is made with all human grade ingredients. No by products, no fillers, and it is made fresh and shipped to your door! Shipping is very inexpensive too. Mine all love it. I have not had them eat as well since I switched all of mine 2 years ago. give it a try, it can't hurt! I could send you a sample if you would like too Quote:

| I use Royal Canin (really great for skin and coat issues) and Blue Buffalo. I've tried Avoderm, Science Diet, Iams and a few others but mine seem to like RC and BB the best.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | We use Natural Balance dry kibble and the Natural Balance food roll....and yes she's right eveyone is most likey going to say something different...that's because every furbaby is different and they all like difff. food. There are SO many GREAT dog foods out there...I like to stay away from corn, gluten amd soy ...and I like the protien to be real meat..not "meat meal" or "by-product". Good luck!!! And yes...welcome to Yokrie Talk

| Welcome to YT! I feed Sasha Blue Buffalo Wilderness. I like to rotate between the 3 flavors that they offer so it gives her some variety. I've also used Orijen and Acana before as well which are excellent foods. |

If the first ingredient for example is "chicken" once the moisture is removed it moves farther down on the list. If the first ingredient is "chicken meal" it stays put. the problem is ONLY when you have unspecified "meat meal".

| The boys are eating Nature's Variety Prairie line. They are eating Chicken Meal & Brown Rice. Next bag will be Salmon Meal & Brown Rice. Love it. Also, I loved Acana Grain Free line but the size was to big for my dogs (5 lbs & 7 lbs). They never chewed it. Just swallowed the pieces whole. May decide to go back sometime. It is a great food.
