| Puppy Teeth When do they generally loose the puppy teeth. I have a little guy 2.5 lbs that i was told was born 10-31-09 so he is over 5 months old and i just noticed he lost some puppy teeth. Can they loose them now are is it usually earlier. I am just wondering if he is actually younger than i was told. |

| I am not an expert on this, but my baby has finished losing her teeth and she is 8 months old. The vet will have to pull 2 teeth when she gets spayed, because they will not fall out. I know that doesn't answer your question, so I hope a more experienced member can help. Read this forum and you might get the answer to your question. Good Luck! | Thanks for replying. I know my vet was even unsure if they were adult or puppy teeth since they are all so small. He was neutered last week and all looks good. |

| Usually when dogs get spayed or neutered at the age of 6 months old, all puppy teeth should have fallen out, if not they will extract them for you. Fiona turned 5 months and lost about 2 teeth, then when she got spayed, they only had 1 baby tooth to extract! For the littler babies, I'm sure it may take a bit longer!

| My girl started losing her teeth at about 5 months. The 12 incisors (the 6 in front on the top and bottom) all fell out before the adult teeth surfaced, it seemed to happen within a couple of weeks max. When the adult canines came in, the baby canines didn't fall out first, so she had 8 canines at once. The bottom ones eventually fell out on their own, but she still has the top ones, right in back of the adult canines. I have been waiting for her spay to see what is going on with her baby teeth (if any need to be pulled, best to have it done at the time of spay/neuter so that they only have to be put under once). The upper baby canines aren't getting lose at all, so I don't think there is a need to wait it out any longer. She goes in for her spay next week and will get those pulled then.
