| My 13wk old is HUMPING!!! We were walking and I was wearing my Ugg boots, and I don't know if it was the sheepskin or what but my puppy started HUMPING my foot in front of my neighbor! She thought it halarious cause he is 13 wks and not quite yet even 1lb and 5oz. She said it looked like a rat on me. Why is he doing this? He is still a baby! He is almost already potty trained, and knows a few commands (requests). Is he just playing? Some say dominance, others that he is playing. He has NEVER done this before. What do I do? |

| Sorry this embarrassed you, but this is normal behavior. My female who is 10 months old loves some of her toys and my daughters monkey and pig slippers too. Though she doesn't do it when she is wearing them. He might outgrow it after he is neutered, but he might not. I would take the time to train him to not do it to people. Orally as well as remove him physically. |

| So I posted the same "awkward question" (as title) earlier today and apparently it's totally normal... My girl is 10 weeks old so she's even younger!

| I think at that age it's just a sign of trying to dominate. My little girl started humping her pink plush giraffe at 13 weeks old (even with her broken leg) and she's a girl. I was shocked when I saw her doing it because she was so young and I read that humping is more common with the boys (go figure) and with older sexually mature dogs. But upon further research learned that's its not un-normal with the youngsters and is just a sign of dominance. Last edited by kate07; 04-08-2010 at 05:33 PM. |

| He wants to make sure no one takes his bowl.... ROFL That's hilarious! Oh.. And I think Magnus started humping at less then 10 weeks... I didn't think he was the first time since he was so young but the next night, I saw him trying to "dominate" one of his pillows... hahaha At least your puppy didn't hump the pastor like someone I know!
