A 16oz bag was $26 and only lasts 6 days, but our Acana kibble is around $15 and lasts us a month! That's the only problem I've run into with the raw. If I had a smaller dog, I'd probably look into it more. Thanks for your help.

I have bigger girls too at 9 and 11-12 lbs. It has been my experience with every dog I have had and nearly every food that I typically feed less than what is recommended on the bag. My girls do get lots of extras too so I suppose that may have something to do with it.

| There's really no cheap raw type foods out there, other then making it yourself. But even then with all the time you spend doing it, it's not cost effective either. I had people who switch from pre-packaged raw to do it themselves and after going through the process only to switch back, because they said they weren't saving anything with all the time to gather the foods, to mix/grind it, to freeze it, and package it. It really depends on the person I guess, Some people enjoy the preperation, some don't. Unfortunately, I think things are going to get more expensive, I heard a rumor that Acana/Orijen had a price increase in Canada and that will hit the US soon. |

| Canadian one took place on Dec 1, 2009, the last US one was Jan 1, 2009. Supposedly, this fall it will happen. |
