Donating YT 3000 Club Member | How much Food? Brownie is 18 Pounds I have been free feeding & he's getting Fatter So He's going on a diet. I need Him to get down to 15 -16 pounds. How much food should he get The bag says 2 -3 cups That seems WAY to much. He should be a little underweight since he has a bad knee. |

Also, many of the recommended brands on here have weight loss formulas which couldn't hurt!

| Wow, 2-3 seems like a lot. Jackson typically only eats 1/2 cup a day, sometimes 1 cup if he was really active that day. He's always stayed around 12lbs (although at his vet visit Monday, the scale read 16lbs? He doesn't look any different and just weighed 12lbs in December?) If Brownie did fine w/ 1 cup... I would continue doing that! You could maybe add some veggies to the dry food to fill him up?

| If you are feeding a cup a day now, could you just cut it down by maybe an 8th cup and see how that works? Green beans to make him feel full shouldn't hurt the allergies.

| I second this post! When Kyrie (our Alaskan Malamute) needed to lose weight, our vet told us to replace half of her kibble with canned green beans. It worked! I can't believe I forgot to mention this. Canned green beans with no salt added shouldn't trigger any allergies.. you might try it!
