2 Yorkies in a bath room all day? Don't you have a room they could be in? Seems awfully small for 2 Yorkies to be in all day.. I hope you have a HUGE bathroom! ![]() | |

| ![]() I was wondering about this....I am worried about bathing my boys too much....rather than not enough. They both get a bath once a week...but I'd like to give Ricky a bath more often than that. |

| ![]() I bathe Phoebe every week... 10 days Max if I'm busy or lazy. Yorkies have hair, not fur, so its ok to bathe more often.

| ![]() Sparky gets a bath every Saturday. I can probably give him a bath every other week but I'm more comfortable with the every week.

| ![]() I have been reading all of the posts on here and maybe I am the odd one when I say I bathe JuneBug once a month. He is a Biewer with a soft, curly coat. I keep it very short and get him groomed every 8 weeks. I brush him every day or every other day. I am also concerned that if I bathe him more often, his topical flea & tick treatment will not last as long. I have a system that he gets groomed then he gets his topical treatment (Vectra 3D) and his heartworm. Then I bathe him in 4 weeks when he is due his heartworm and then his topical again. Then in another 4 weeks he gets groomed again, etc, etc. It's more like a schedule. With many of you bathing your dogs so often, what do you use for flea & tick protection? I live in the northeast and would never go without.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | ![]() I usually bathe my Yorkie once per week, his head starts getting oily after a few days and at about 5-6 days he starts smelling like a dog lol. I use a non-soap based shampoo and a conditioner on him. When we first adopted him his skin was dry and flaky but now there are no flakes to be seen, after about a week he starts itching in the middle of the night if he hasn't had a bath. My daughter just recently started working as a bather at petsmart and she's freaking out about once a week baths because the company training said you are only supposed to bath your dogs once a month.... Really, am I hurting him my bathing too much? |

| ![]() I give Sugar (JR terrier) and Spice , my yorkie, a bath at diff times. Sugar has one once a month when before she gets her topical flea prevention on and heartguard. Spice gets a bath once every 7-10 days depends on her. She takes nexguard for her flea prevention so I dont worry about washing it off. I use Splash and Shine shampoo and conditioner on her. I use baby wipes every night on her face, feet and butt before she puts her pjs on. I think I will start wiping her feet with vinegar and maybe a soft toothbrush once in awhile! That is a good idea. |

| ![]() My puppy is 10 weeks and it's the first time I've given her a bath. After the shower of warm water, shampoo & conditioner, I dried her with a towel very well. I tried to use a blow dryer in low heat so she doesn't get cold but she's just too scared. After I've dried her enough and put her down, she was running around and rolling on the carpet as if she was trying to scratch her body. This went on for about 5 mins and I picked her up and gave her a treat to take her mind off the bath then combed her. After that she's back to her normal self. Is this normal? Anyone had this experience? |
