| I started with a Q-Tip and chicken flavored toothpaste. Then I used the soft plastic brushes with the minty gel. With the enzymatic gels and/or toothpaste, it's not necessary to brush so much as it is to get it on their gumline and let the enzymes dissolve the tartar. I take my time doing it and try to make it fun. Some days it seems like they just eat the toothpaste, lol.

| I just started brushing Lily's teeth about a month ago and she doesn't like it at all but she tolerates it and doesn't try to squirm away. I let her just lick the toothpaste the first time off of my finger. The next week I brushed her front teeth by lifting up the lip and the next week actually brushed all of her teeth. She loves the taste of the toothpaste, she thinks she's getting a treat which helps me out ALOT! Lol. I have apple flavored toothpaste and a finger toothbrush (like the one you put on your finger and stick your finger in their mouth) with gloves. |
