| Does hair n health go together? My 5 month 2lbs has very thin and short hair. I've seen pics of other 5 months furbabies and they look allot hairier. If my baby has naturaly thin hair I'm totally ok with it. She can eat her little heart out I feed her Wellness or Merrick wet n dry puppy food. Should I change her diet or am I being paranoid now. Her white hair on her head is extremely thin and her back hair is only 2 in long. Here are some pics:

YT 500 Club Member | I dont think theres any connection. My Rosies coat is exactly the same though at 11 months it is a little fuller, the hair around her nose never seams to grow, but she rubs it along the carpet. Your little one looks like a tiny version of Rosie who wieghs 5.5lb. Very cute. |

| Aww, cute pictures! Your little girl is darling. Just like human hair, yes, dog hair quality is linked to good nutrition. However, your concerns about hair thickness and length relate more to your baby's age and breeding. One of the breeders/exhibitioners here can give you better info than I can (first time, 1-year Yorkie owner), but if I recall correctly, some Yorkies that have sparse hair at an early age grow up to have beautiful, lush coats. Don't despair. Unless her hair is falling out or she shows other signs of illness, I don't think you need to worry. She looks precious to me! |

| Your baby's hair looks exactly like my Moka's hair. While I do think hair and health go together, I also think like Maximo says, breeding has a lot to do with hair coat too. Moka has a nice thick coat, (pics in my album) it is just a little britle and breaks off before it gets long, but it is very shiny and healthy as I can make it be based on her breeding. Your baby is a darlin!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OMG, that FACE! ADORABLE ! Hair/hair loss can be related to the state of health. So, the key is to watch for *changes* in hair growth. If a pup was born w/ a certain amount of thickness and it stays that way, all would seem okay then .

| My Pixie's coat is about the same. Pixie is about 23 weeks My son came over who had not seen her and 3 weeks and he said wow is her hair getting long, I guess we don't see the change when we see them every day!

| Hair is made up of proteins called keratins, so quality protein in the diet is essential. Merrick and Wellness are both excellent food choices. I would just give her time, she is still a puppy.... and a cute one at that |
