| Need help with food choice Oscar has digestive issues, he was eating Natural Balance Duck and Potato and was dealing pretty well, but he doesn't seem to like it any more. The vet says I should switch his food. OK he doesn't react well to chicken, but he really loves it. I tried Hills Science Diet Sensitive stomach (before doing much research). He loves it, but shortly after intoducing it, he got bloody poop. I know I need to switch, but what should I try? If he doesn't like the NB duck, will he like another form of NB? I don't want him to have any more digestive upsets, so I'd like something to work. Any suggestions for picky eaters with sensitivity issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to give him some pure canned pumpkin to help with the diarrhea. If he doesn't like it try making it into a treat 1 c. pure canned pumpkin 1.5 c. flour (i don't use wheat as a lot of dogs are allergic so i use rye flour) 1 egg 1 tbs olive oil bit of cinnamon - it makes a very dense batter- i use spoons to make small balls- bake on 350 for 15-20 min layla gets about 3-4 a day- pumpkin is great for their digestion and the treats don't have anything awful in them. HOpe that helps.

| Acana has 3 grain free flavors, 2 of which are without chicken. One is Pacifica and the other is either Prairie or Grasslands (I can't remember which). |

You can always put fat free cottage cheese on his food every now and then to perk things up or fat free plain yogurt

| I just bought him the NB Vinison and sweet potato and.....he LOVED it. He gobbled it all up. I just hope he dosen't get sick of it too soon. This may be weird but I think he likes food that is bigger too. I was giving him the small bites before but maybe he thinks the bigger kibble is treats or something. Anyway, I'm not gonna question it, I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope he continues to like it. And I'm definitely gonna try those pumpkin treats this weekend.

Did you buy a second flavour to switch it up with?? Let me know how the pumpkin treats go- they are a HUGE hit at our house! The can I buy usually has 3 cups of pumpkin in it so i usually make 3 batches and freeze them- i take about a half dozen out at a time and keep them in the fridge.

Maybe he would like the Duck & Potato in the regular size bites??? I would try it and see if he "likes" the food again. He liked it before in small bites.
