| She's not eating...what's up? Okay, so Sadie today decided that she's not going to eat her food. She'll eat cheerios, she'll eat a cookie treat from petco, and she'll lick karo syrup from my finger but she will not touch the raw diet i make her, she won't touch nature's variety raw venison, and she won't even eat some kibble but at least she tried that and then dropped it on the floor. What's up with this? Her stools have been normal, and she was eating fine yesterday. Her teeth were recently pulled, could it be that she's sore? She was also spayed 10 days ago, would that be hurting her? We have an appt. tonight so i'll ask them. But i want some thoughts from you guys. Thanks |

| Hmm, since she'll eat the cheerios and cookie treat, I'm guessing she just doesn't want the RAW. Do you have a different flavour that you can try feeding her? Missy decided one day that she no longer liked RAW, after eating it for 3-4 months. That's when I started homecooking for her. Please update us on her appt. I'm curious as to what the vet had to say.

| Her system could still be a little bit out of whack from her surgery. Sometimes Hot Rod will eat less than a teaspoon of food and he's fine til the next meal. Could just be she's readjusting from the iv and meds.

| Vet... Well the vet said she was great from the surgery, teeth and incision healed well. She said to try to keep feeding her, try chicken and rice. so i tried it and last night she ate some. Then this morning more diarrhea and she won't eat a thing, i finally got her inticed into one tiny bite of chicken. What can I do? Maybe another fecal to see if yet again the dreaded bacteria is present. I'm so tired of fighting this sickness for her. It's awful to have a pup that's sick. I just wish i could get her over it for good. Maybe a new house and yard will do the trick and give her a better living environment. Maybe it's the food or our yard... Who knows, i might go pick up some more raw flavors tonight. |

| Maybe the raw is not sitting with her well any more. I fed raw before and my dogs never had diarrhea. I can't remember how old she is but maybe her backround is catching up with her? |

| she's 7 months old, and i don't think that not wanting her foods has anything to do with her "background"?? she's had this stomach bacteria a couple times before and gotten over it on meds, so it's possible that she's gotten it again. i'm thinking it's something in our yard or she's getting it somewhere. her past, breeder, and where she comes from has nothing to do with getting a bacteria, and the vets said neither does her food. maybe she's just upset a little and she'll get back on a schedule again and be fine, and our new home with a fenced in yard should help ward off any weird animals causing her upsets and illness. |

The loss of appetite is more concerning, when present w/ the diarrhea.

Clostridia is a rod shaped bacteria and is gram-positive / Spirochetes are s-shaped and are gram-negative bacteria. I can't tell if Amforol treats both +/- bacteria. Overgrowth of Clostridium in dogs can sometimes be C.perfingrens -- and it looks like you have to be specific about testing and about med choice, bc of resistance: Clostridium Perfringens - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company!
