Hmmm...I'm not really sure if the vet gave you a full answer here. A "species" name for the clostridia would be essential. That can really be a tough one to get rid of
. I do think you should take the girly in.
Clostridia is a rod shaped bacteria and is gram-positive / Spirochetes are s-shaped and are gram-negative bacteria.
I can't tell if Amforol treats both +/- bacteria. Overgrowth of Clostridium in dogs can sometimes be C.perfingrens -- and it looks like you have to be specific about testing and about med choice, bc of resistance:
