Bordetella? Is this normal?

im worried. sasha is still sounding congested. she makes the sound only sometimes.

Human whooping cough is also caused by a bordetella bacteria (different one than the one that causes kennel cough). It is quite normal your dog to cough and make strange noises from respiratory spasms for a couple of weeks after the vaccine as it is a live vaccine and therefore gives them a very mild case of the disease. Not all dogs will cough. If it gets severe steam from the bath or shower will help calm the spasms.

my yorkie rescue, timmy, has had problems since the first week we got him.(he was stud at puppy mill 3-3 1/2 yrs old) I just recently started wondering if he could have kennel cough. He has had xrays and a barium study done, and teeth removed (gum disease) to try to find the reason for his vomiting white bubbly goo when he eats. I control it by feeding him one piece at a time and letting burp in middle of meal, but i cant do that forever obviously. We got him from shelter feb 7th, and he had been vaccinated for bordetella supposedly at the shelter. We started noticing his problem a few days to a week after we got him. He also has started hacking a dry cough (like cat with hairball) randomly. He has always done that when he drinks water, but now it is random and more frequent. Could this be a reaction to the vaccine or could he have kennel cough?! This problem has been going on for almost 2 months now!!

He has also been dewormed 3 times since i got him (twice by vet, once over the counter), b/c he has def had them AT LEAST once (when i got him) and i thought i saw more so we just did the 3rd pill a couple days ago and i've seen nothing. I never see him flush any out of his system or anything either.

Please give advice..if you need more info i have it! Ive been kindof obsessed with this since it started so i've been researching.
