| My Yorkie just started bleeding...... =( Hey everyone, I am new to these forums, so i wanted to say hi. I have a 3 year old Yorkie and she started bleeding like 3 days ago. Its very very light and spotty, but everywhere she sits, she leave a little stain. My girlfriend is having a cow, and i am of the mindset that my dog is like my child. I would give a limb for my puppers. She unfornately is not quite as die hard as me, lol. Anyways, she is puppy pad trained so she stays in the house and pottys when she has to. How do i control this? If I use a diaper, she will mess inside and it will be a huge thing to clean up. I just am at a loss. I can't stand making her sleep in the kitchen because she looks at me with those eyes. Just tell me this won't last a real long time. Or maybe some advice on how to let her know she didn't do anything wrong. I don't want her thinking she did something to get put in the kitchen. | They actually make little pads for dogs going through heat. I'm not sure what to tell you about her using the puppy pad though. Maybe your vet would be better able to advise you. If you need to get blood out of anything though hydrogen peroxide is the way to go.

| Hi and welcome to YT. Not sure what you mean by bleeding...is it from being in heat or just bleeding? If she is bleeding for another reason, please take her to the vet. If it is from heat, then I would suggest diapers. I think they have them at Petsmart/Petco. Where 'bouts in Baltimore are you? I'm on the eastern shore.

| Sounds like Heat to me.... I would suggest getting her spayed. If she is 3 years old... do you plan to breed her? If you do I would do it soon and then have her spayed. Not sure what others recommend as far as breeding age but I wouldnt wait much longer. If she is already spayed I would take her to a vet ASAP and see what the bleeding is from. Best Wishes. |

| the best way to solve that problem is to have her spayed. Other than that, you could just put her in a panty for the night, and leave it off in the day. |

| I am in a similar situation as you. Uni is almost 3 yrs and pad trained. I have in her last heats not paid attention to when she needs to go pee and she has gone in her diaper. Yuck. I got my diapers from ebay. Very inexpensive and you can get them to make them in cute fabrics. Get at least 2 in case she goes in one and you will have another one ready. But since you say she has been in heat for 3 days, I guess you would have to get something asap. You just have to super pay attention to her whereabouts and make sure if she needs to pee you can take it off.

| Hey i use the doggie diapers they are kinda like new born diapers they have all kinds of sizes and they work GREAT lola keeps hers on all day. you do although have to change them about 4 to 5 times a day but they absorb the blood and pee very nicely and keep everything mess free... they go on with a hole for the tail with enough room for her to poop 2. Sometimes i will take the diaper off her and put her in her room for a little while so she can do her buisness and play for a lil bit without it on 2 she seems to like it |
