I have VPI also. I pay around 45 dollars a month. I did enjoy getting some money back when I filed Hannah's spay visit. I received half of the costs of services back. I rather be safe than sorry.

We have VPI with the superiror coverage and love it! Easy to get our money back and will continue with it!!!Its best to get insurance when you first get your puppy! The whole preexisting conditions is true! and they check all vets somehow for the dogs prexisting conditions.

Enzo is on the highest plan, we paying $34.99 (20% anything that isn't covered)
My other dogs are on the basic plan and that's $24.99 (10 % anything that isn't covered)

There is an initiation fee, I dont remember what it was. You only pay that once and never again. After that its just a monthly payment that can automatically be deducted from your bank account.

We've got Soph on Banfield as well and we're very pleased with it, especially since we've got to have her in at least once a month for a butt squeezin. Unlimited no charge office visits. Vaccines all covered. Dental pretty much all covered. They're open 7 days a week. When she had her UTI a few months back all we had to pay for was the Clavamox and we got a 20% discount off that. It's more of a wellness plan than insurance, so it might be possible that you could do it in conjunction with the insurance if you've got a baby with ongoing health problems, if for no other reason than to save on the cost of the office visits and vaccinations. It does have the advantage that since it's Banfield's in house plan, you don't have to pay up front and then wait to be reimbursed. They can tell you up front how much is going to be out of your pocket if it's something that isn't covered and every time I've had something that wasn't covered, their quote was what I ended up paying, no surprises.
