| Already in heat????? I have a 5 month old Yorkie Male and i noticed that lately he has been humping his bed, is this normal? How old should he be before i have him neutured? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Males don't go into heat only females. Humping is not necessarily hormonal...it is also how dogs show dominance. He can be neutered at 6 months old. It may decrease the humping or it may not.

| Teddy started humping things at the same age and he was neutured around 6 months, he is now a year and he only humps this one stuffed animal he has and nothing else.. hope that helps

Check with your vet, his growth platelets should be fully developed prior to nuetering. You can have him nuetered at the same time he has any retained puppy teeth removed. That way he only has to undergo anesthesia once. Only girls go into heat.....boys are always ready to accomodate.
