| Yorkie Yakker | I applied vinegar, ticks and flea shampoo and frontline and she still have ticks. Today I found her 3. I don't know what else to do. The next application it's for dec. 24. It's this normal?

				   | The frontline should take care of them. Is it frontline plus? I think I would not let her out into the grass for a while. Aslo where are you getting the frontline from? do you get it from your vet? Does it have an expiration date? |

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | Frontline doesn't prevent ticks. It kills them...meaning it is still possible to find ticks on your dog. Ticks live in grass and also in pine straw. It may be necessary to treat your yard to eliminate them.

| Yorkie Yakker | I bought it in Ebay the expiration date is on 2010 don't remember the month. I took her out last Sunday because she is always inside the house and feel sorry for her. I guess I have to wait until next application. And yes it's frontline plus.

				   | I didn't like Frontline on Max. Found 6 ticks in one day. ![]() We have been using k9 Advantix now for 1 1/2 years... found only one tick ever and it was dead already I also have Mickey on it. K9 Advantix prevents ticks from attaching and getting on your pup. Frontline the ticks have to attach on your pup to be killed.

Frontline didn't work for us, either. He was on the Frontline from the vet and got a tick per day for almost 2 weeks. So we switched to K9 Advantix in June... not ONE tick since!

| Yorkie Yakker | The same happened to me I found little ones at least 1 per day. But today I found 4 bigger ones. My husband wants to cut all her hair and apply Frontline and for me it's not a good idea I've been working so hard to get the hair nice.

				   | Give k9 Advantix a try. I was really happy I did. Someone here suggested it to me.

				   | I agree K9 Advantix is the best. Even though I hate poisons and apply it the way I do, it continues working for a month.

				   | I use K9 Advantix too, I used to have problems with ticks before starting the Advantix. You may also need to get the house and yard treated. You may still see some ticks once you do that, but they will be less and less until they are completely gone.

| Yorkie Yakker | Hmmm, I think I would do that. But I'm going to finish the Frontline I have already and if the problem persists definetively I'm going to try Advantix. Can I bathe her with the tick and flea shampoo? I heard that once you apply Frontline you can't use it.

Again, you'll have to treat your yard too.

| Yorkie Yakker | Yes I think I have to do that. I treat the house by myself every weekend and her bed and sheets. But a few months ago to my house arrived a Schnauzer and I put her inside the house in an empty room I have until the next day to bathe her. When we bathe her she had a thousands of ticks and fleas and when I say a thousands it's a lot. I couldn't stand it and let her go. Maybe there's something in the house and I need something stronger. And I think that maybe we didn't apply the Frontline correctly I got it on Saturday and bathe her on Sunday and apply it.

| YT Addict | I have heard from a lot of people and even some people who are not vets but work in vet offices, that say these days it seems ticks and fleas live through Frontline, like they have become immune to that now. I can see how this happens, evolution takes its part in how humans, animals and now I guess insects grow through the ages and all the chemicals in the environment. More and more we grow immune whether through medicine or not so I guess is only the same type of thing going on with fleas and ticks and Frontline. And of course as someone else previously said that they don't prevent, just kill. But I hear most times than not, it doesn't even kill them anymore.

				   | I have had a terrible time with frontline too. No ticks but lots of fleas. I used advantix and it worked a little better but not perfect. I do live on a farm and my schnauzers run in the woods but we treated the house and yard. I have hardwood so there isn't the issue of them in the carpet. Let us know how the other works, if you try it. Good luck!
