| Black Spots on Genitals My 7 year old Yorkie developed a black spot, about the size of a kernel of corn around her pee pee. This happened six months ago, and she seems fine. Today I noticed another spot. They are black and almost look like dirt, but they won't disappear. She does not fuss with them, at all. Does anyone know what this is, and have you seen this in your loved one? Thanks. Kate

| Wow, that was a quick reply. I don't know how to post pics on this newsgroup. If I sent it to your personal email address, could you please post it for me? If you don't want your email address shown, I understand. I was also thinking about old age spots. Thanks.

| Callie had little black spots that looked like dirt on/around her butt and the vet told us it was waxy build up do to maybe a food allergy so we are trying a hypoallergenic food for a month then supposed to go back.

| Sadie has a slight allergy problem too. Maybe that is it. I really need to take her in to the vet. Thanks.

| I had a female who had trouble with this for many years. Is she spayed? My vet said it was caused by hormones and is worse in unspayed females. If you are able to scrape it off with your fingernail it is probably the same thing. I used to wash it off with a washcloth and baby shampoo before a bath |

| Yes, she is spayed. It really does look like dirt, but I cannot wash nor scrape it off. From what I am hearing, and I did call the vet this AM, it is probably just due to old age. They get spots/moles, etc. like older folks do. I am on my way out-of-town for the holidays, but want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving with their loved ones, and yes, that does include our Yorkie Terrors.

YT Addict | Dolce has just developed the same thing! Hi all! I just recently noticed that my female Dolce also has a black spot on her peepee. It's right at the base on the side closest to her head and is about the size of 2 peas side by side. It's kinda like a rectangular shape. It doesn't bother her at all. At first I though she was dirty so I tried to clean her but it didn't come off. It really looks like the skin has changed color. I'm taking her into the vet this weekend but maybe someone here has experienced this I before? She is unspayed and just finished her heat cycle. It doesn't hurt her at all even when I touch it. But this morning I felt like maybe she is having trouble peeing? Cuz she didn't go when I took her and her brother out.thanks in advance for any help u can give!

| It could be yeast...Princess gets brown speckled spots on her lower tummy or black stuff on her private area sometimes. I clean her bottom every day after her daily walk, I wash their paws too. I don't use any cleaners or shampoo on it, just plain water bc she's sensitive to some shampoos too. I also feed them a grain free diet, no potatoes.
