I did a double check and the sample of the organic natural balance I recieved doesnt have fish in it, so I was super happy about that and will try the sample tomorrow as planned..

That's one reason why I like Nature's Variety. They have a special contract with their supplier that does not allow them to use ethoxyqyin, and because of the location of NV's processing plant, they guarantee their products do not contain etho. I can't remember exactly what their reply to my e-mail said but you can contact them and get their response.

You can't go wrong with anything Nature's Variety..Cosmo is on the NV Prairie (only reason he not on the Instinct was because for him the Instinct was too high in protein which made him drink way too much water and pee way too much) and since the Prairie is a rotation food it's awesome and lower in protein..he loves it and also our pet nutritionist out in California recommends this food highly even the NV raw he eats in the evening. We have gone thorugh all the flavors and he loves every single one.

Izzy is different since she has pancreatitis/SIBO/IBD so she can't have this but she is on The Honest Kitchen freeze dried raw Preference with steamed tilapia.

I started the switch from RC to NVI and Max's eyes are clean

Jackson LOVES Nature's Variety Instinct and has never had runny eyes on it.
He used to get terrible eye boogers on Wellness but we've had no issues so far
on this food, minus a few mornings every now and then having to pick out a few
eye crusties

I just recently switched Jack over from Nutro (he was on it when I bought him) to Halo, Spot's Stew. He absolutely love the Spot's Stew. I feed him the kibble and give him a tablespoon of the moist two times a day. I have noticed his eyes are not nearly as watery as they were before and his skin is no longer dry and flaky. His fur is looking much healthier too. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I contacted NV and have filled out a coupon for a free bag of food. I think Im gonna try the instinct, probably the turkey/duck. The protien level in that is 35 percent (i think). That isnt super high, so Im willing to try it. Im appreicate all your comments an advice. Have a great weekend everyone..

Someone please correct me if Im wrong, but I think you only have to worry about the ethoxyquin in foods with a fish meal. As far as the NB foods go, the only food you find this in is their Sweet Potato and Fish formula. Good Luck on your food search!

NV stands for Nature variety right? I just switched Max and Sophie to it. I wonder if thats the case only with Raw Rabbit and not the others

Yes, Nature's Variety.... apparently NV only outsources their Rabbit from China for ONLY their Raw. Kibble I think is safe, but I would email them just in case.

why would a rep. company that has a great food product, still continue to use foods from China.
