I think it will expire before I use it all!
Would you mind sharing where you purchased your jar of tylan40?

Default eye staining

I have a Morkie with a mostly white face and she has tear stains and down the sides of her beard also. I ordered Eye Envy and got it yesterday. It's really simple to use and I used it yesterday and today and the stains are almost gone. It only takes a few minutes and really isn't messy. Can't wait to see Belle's face white again for Christmas photos.

What does Eye Envy do, does it bleach the stains, or stop the tearing?

I have a Persian cat with pale blue eyes and white fur.....he gets terrible, rust-colored goopy tears. I have been using the Angel Eyes powder on his food for about a month now. There are some days when he has no tearing at all. Most days, the goop is just much less and sort of clumped in a darker spot that I can simply wisk away with my finger. The problem isn't totally solved by this product, but it is definitely better! jmo!

I have a stupid question but are the eye goopies from a build up of tearing eyes? By gilrs get these all the time and it is hard to get off. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

For example if the body's pH is out of balance, and too alkaline, apple cider vinegar can work, if the acid, tums can work. A food change works for some dogs, and for others distilled water works. If the tearing is caused by a low-grade infection, Angel Eyes can be very effective at getting rid of it, and you should see results in a few weeks. Angel eyes has a small dose of antibiotic in it, however, if the staining is really bad, you might need something to eliminate the staining as well. If you stop the excessive tearing, gradually the staining will fade, but there are several products that work on removing or lightening the stain.

This is a great article on tearing and staining, and why some products work for some dogs and not others. Just remember that there are many things that cause excessive tearing. It also has advice on removing the stains, and a simple solution of Milk of Magnesia, corn starch and peroxide is said to be very effective at bleaching the stains. Tear Staining: The Causes & Cures

but how do you know if its too much alkaline or acid? My dogs have red staining around thier mouths, eyes and feet (from licking them) and I pretty much think its from the food. (it started about 2 weeks ago) Is the ph to high in the food for them? Ive tried the ACV and didnt get any results other than them killing my grass when they peed and not drinking the water that I put it in. I have put them back on the angel eyes untill I can figure out what is causing all the staining. I appreciate any input you have.. TIA

I'm not sure how you know which, I think it's experimentation, but if they wouldn't drink the water, you used too much ACV. From what I've read, the red staining is due to a secondary yeast type of infection, and that's because the hair is always wet, I think I too would try one of the products with tylan in it such as Angel Eyes, you say you used it before, did it work? It sounds like if it doesn't work in a few months, then something else is causing the problem. Some people have to continue to use the Angel Eyes at a lower dosage, after the excessive tearing stops. Of course, don't use foods that have any dyes in them, but it could be anything from bacteria in the food, to allergies.

Thanks for your help. Yes, I have used angel eyes in the past and Im currently using it to help with thier tearing. It works, I just dont like to use it long term but I guess I can. Im using Merricks for now and as far as I know they dont have any dyes in their foods. Ive been using them for about 2ish months now and the tearing/staining just started about 2 weeks ago, that's why I think its the food because nothing else in their diet has changed and today I noticed while they were outside doing thier business both of them had red staining around thier poopers.. I would think was a huge indicator that its the food , I have never seen that before. My toy poodle has had tearing in the past, but I related it to the corn in her food. I have sent out for samples for a few different food companies agian, in hopes that I can find something they will eat and that will help, but the list is getting limited as we have tried many, many foods. The acv that I was using was only 2 teaspoons in a large water bowl,(not sure of the size) I wouldnt think that it was too strong, but I will can try again using less.

Good detective work, yes, I agree with you, if it's around the "poopers" it's food related. It's hard to always understand what in the food is causing the problem; it doesn't even have to be a primary ingredient, but in your case, I would think about changing the food. You might also want to think about adding a probiotic to the diet, to keep yeast at bay. A probiotic is "good" bacteria that are found in yogurt or you can buy just the probiotic. When too much of good bacteria are killed off, yeast can take over, so you want to add the bacteria that eats yeast.

By the way, from what I've read, about the ACV, only 1 tsp per bowl of water was used.

Im going to change thier food as soon as I can find one that they will eat. I have given them yogurt in the past but after awhile they quit eating it, like they do everything else. I will try again. I have regular probiotics in pill form that I take, can they take that too? I will look it up.. Thanks for the heads up about the ACV, I thought I read 1 tablespoon on a few different sites, I cut it back to 2 teaspoons because I was worried about whether or not they would detect it, no wonder they wouldnt drink much. Thanks again for all your help...

I'm not even sure the ACV works, I guess it would depend on what's causing the excessive tearing, but I've read that people say their dogs will drink it if they add 1 tsp to water; I haven't really researched it.

Don't know that much about the probiotics, and what dosage would be right for a dog, I wouldn't think you could overdose, but I don't know. You might want to start a separate thread, Wylie's Mom, Ann the moderator, could probably answer the question. Once the probiotics are added to the system, they should be able to maintain themselves in the system at the proper balance, it's not something you should have to do for life, unless you are doing something that's killing the good bacteria.

Concerning food, many dogs stop eating a brand because it taste stale, storage is really important, and the main thing people do wrong is they leave too much air in the container. Even if you are using an "air tight" container, if there are 3 inches of air sitting in the container, it will make the food go stale faster. The best storage is the original container with all excess air squeezes out, and clipped, or a plastic bag with all excess air squeeze out. Try to note, when they seem no longer interested in the food, and see if staleness may be a factor. Another thing is parmesan cheese sprinkled on the food, can renew their interest, but if they are doing well on a food, and are just being fussy, you might want to wait them out, they will eat, when they are hungry. Often they learn to hold out for better food, and sometimes other family members have given them food, and don't notify you.

Default Best price for ANGEL EYES

I found a place online that sells ANGEL EYES (120 GRAMS) for less than $40.
When I bought it locally it was $25 for 30 grams ...
I got the beef flavored and sprinkled it on the Honest Kitchen food I use and both my dogs gobbled the food up in seconds.

Buy Angels' Eyes for Dogs, Beef Online at drugstore.com

Just use 1/8 tsp to 1/4 cup of dehydrated food and 1/4 cup of water.
Works wonders.
