| Tears stains/Angel Eyes Has anyone had any experience with Angel Eyes for tear stains? I just ordered some and thought I would ask. Probably should have asked BEFORE I ordered. LOL! If you don't use Angel Eyes, is there another method of getting rid of tear stains. My baby also has saliva stains. Thanks!! |

| i just use baby wipes about every other day to clean my babes eyes..i never tried that stuff...i'm always afraid that they're just gonna over price for doing the same thing a baby wipe could do..since so much stuff is just given a special name...and then the price is raised haha...but let me know how it works!!

| Actually Angel Eyes goes in their water and it's supposed to be an all natural way to keep their eyes and nose from running which causes the stains. Then when the hair grows out, you can just cut the stains out. The little guy we just adopted has HORRIBLE tear stains and saliva/nose stains but he has a gorgeous coat. Just want his face to match the rest of him. We're trying the wipes but they don't seem to be doing anything. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | There's two things going on, first you want to stop the excessive tearing, and secondly you want to get rid of stains; getting rid of the stains doesn't help much if you can't stop the tearing. Many different things can cause excessive tearing, and depending on what causes it, different products work. For example if the body's pH is out of balance, and too alkaline, apple cider vinegar can work, if the acid, tums can work. A food change works for some dogs, and for others distilled water works. If the tearing is caused by a low-grade infection, Angel Eyes can be very effective at getting rid of it, and you should see results in a few weeks. Angel eyes has a small dose of antibiotic in it, however, if the staining is really bad, you might need something to eliminate the staining as well. If you stop the excessive tearing, gradually the staining will fade, but there are several products that work on removing or lightening the stain. This is a great article on tearing and staining, and why some products work for some dogs and not others. Just remember that there are many things that cause excessive tearing. It also has advice on removing the stains, and a simple solution of Milk of Magnesia, corn starch and peroxide is said to be very effective at bleaching the stains. Tear Staining: The Causes & Cures

| Thank you!! I will read the article and try a few things. We've only had him for about four days now so he's still adjusting to a lot of things. To be honest, his eyes don't look that runny. We're also going to start the acv anyway. It's supposed to aid in digestion and poop odor. Hopefully it will also help with the tearing. |

Oh, I forgot that acv stood for apple cider vinegar; I thought you were still talking about the Angel Eyes.

| Nope, my puppy doesn't tear that I've noticed but he did and now that you mention that they tear when they teethe, it makes sense now. The one with the tear stains is a year old. I haven't noticed that his eyes are tearing but he had to have gotten the stains from somewhere. BTW, acv is also good for ear wash and yeast infections in the ear. It has tons of benefits for your dog (and YOU if you can stomach it) |

| We have changed Ozzy's food to one that doesn't have any fillers and is supposed to be all natural. We get it at the feed store and our last dog lost a lot of weight on that food and was looking really healthy. Maybe that's why Ozzy's eyes don't look like they're tearing anymore. He had no problems transitioning to it either. We're just going to have do some trial and error to see what works. Thank you all for your input. |

| I used Angel eyes for my shih tzu's staining and it worked beautifully with no apparent side-effects. I sprinkled it on her food. I haven't had to put her on it a second time. Love it! |

| The main ingredient in Angel Eyes is Tylan or tylosol. You can buy tylan40 and put that in her food if you run out of angel eyes. It is much cheaper and just as easy to use. I have more than one dog that i use it for so bulk is always better!

| Thanks! That's right up my alley cheap/diy stuff. Do I give them the same amount as indicated on the label of Angel Eyes? |
